OCUPATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE DISABLED

OBJECTIVES AND AIMED STUDENTS:

The main aim is organizing an occupational workshop as a start in Book Binding-Restoration aimed at people with any kind of disability.

CONTENTS

This course basically develops the knowledge and necessary skills concerning the techniques for the making and assembling of book binding and other parts as well as the techniques for ornamentation and present types of processing.

     Breakdown:

  • Identify raw materials, tools and machines.

  • Carry out the marking, design and cutting of book covers.

  • Making the different parts of the book, page folding, exchanging sheets, gathering folders, cutting the packet, etc, in order to finish the product.

  • Assembling the different parts of the book in order to arrange a rustic style book binding.

  • Book binding with borders, Dutch style, English style in leather.
